Oh, Montana....

As you've read in my previous blog, I flew into Bozeman, MT prior to beginning my journey through Wyoming. I exited WY and headed back to Bozeman where I'm staying for just one night. I met up with a couple who are a 'friend of a friend'. They picked me up from my hotel and took me downtown for some Asian-fusion. It's so hard to imagine Bozeman covered in snow! Actually, it's hard to picture any of this beautiful land covered in snow.

After spending the night in Bozeman, I began my 6 hour journey to Flathead Lake where I was going to meet up with a patient's parents who live in Polson, MT. The southern most point of Flathead Lake. It was stunning weather and I was introduced to two new loves: sailing and huckleberry ice cream!

Here are some shots of Flathead Lake

Leaving Flathead Lake, I traveled east of the lake and had breakfast in Bigfork. Now this is a town I can live in. Cute shops and some fine dining options. I ended up eating at Showthyme which was right next door to the Bigfork Summer Theater. I saw Spamalot and enjoyed my first row seats!

Off to Kalispell where I will spend my last three nights and the next two days in Glacier National Park.

These are a few shots of my first drive through Glacier National Park...

My pictures will need minimal introduction, but just so you know this is from Day 1 & 2 of Going to the Sun Road in Glacier, MT. On the first day, I drove the entire road alone - all the way to St. Mary, did a boat tour in St. Mary then had some rhubarb pie at Park Cafe before the boat ride. I highly recommend this place, but it is VERY busy and takes a little while. I was able to score a spot at the bar. ALL of the pies looked amazing. I really wanted chocolate pie, but rhubarb was recommended to me, so I stuck with it.
After my boat tour, I enjoyed a yummy plate at Johnson's Cafe in St. Mary. Another good food for a quick stop and a full belly.

On day 2 I did a Red Jammer tour which I highly recommend. My tour was 8 hours and my favorite part was Many Glacier. If I ever decided to stay within the park, this is definitely where I will stay!

Well, there are not enough pictures to capture the true beauty of Montana. Hope you were able to get at least a little glimpse of how much I loved my 1650 mile journey through  Wyoming and Montana.
