The Chaos of the New C-Word
Oh my goodness. I'm so glad I don't have a professional career of blogging because I would define failure.
My last post pertained to my new hobby... Beautycounter! I guess it's not new because I've been a consultant for ONE YEAR now!
Since that last post, my hubby & I visited Cancun in November and then my parents for Christmas. Our only 2020 travel was to Turks & Caicos just before the new C-word became a thang. I'm referring to COVID-19 as the new C-word. I don't even like typing it out.
As a nurse, I've worked every day during this pandemic. My husband is a physician and he worked most days despite a very reduced primary care schedule. He also helped out in the hospital for 3 weeks and worked Upper Respiratory Infection tents.
So we're tired. Everyone is tired. Travel is halted. Our future seems a little more uncertain as things spike after a slow open. We are just trying to be responsible by wearing our masks and going out less than before.
I wanted to take this opportunity to discuss what the future holds for this blog.
I plan to post more Beautycounter related news and updates.
I plan to talk about future travel or recently past travel... like maybe updating you on a trip right after it happens or just before to talk about the plans. Ya know, an actual blog!
I just cancelled a trip home because Alaska Airlines kept changing my flight and added a stop in Dallas which made me uncomfortable.
I have a trip planned in October to fly to Atlanta to visit with family, then fly to Burlington, VT to visit Stowe for a couple of nights. Then I will drive to Kennebunkport, ME for a couple of nights. My end destination will be Boston where I fly home.
I just can't say with any certainty that this will pan out. I've already come up with a plan B.
My Plan B will be to fly into ATL, visit with family, then maybe drive up to Asheville for a couple of days. I was even thinking of a trip to Disney world, too! I mean, Disney HAS to be clean, right?!
I'm having a flight of ideas right now because I'm itching to go somewhere. I just don't know where yet or what will feel comfortable. My Disney vacation planner is heading there in a couple of weeks, so I'll get the feel from her when she's back.
All of this has me thinking about 2021 travel. I have my big cruise booked for next September. Heather and I had to move it from November 2020 to September 2021. It's a Greek Isles cruise via Rome, so let's just say I'm very excited. Our excursions are mostly booked, so we'll only need to pay off the cruise and book flights a few months ahead. I'm working with a great travel agent who can book the Rome segment of my trip (hotel, excursions).
I would love for Paul & I to do a land Alaska trip next year. Maybe fly in via Anchorage and explore Seward and then drive up to Fairbanks. I know he would also love to visit Sitka for a few days, too. We loved the city of Sitka when we cruised there in 2018.
The Wardrops may end up in Napa by Spring 2021 as our annual family trip.
If I don't hit Disney this year, I'd really like to go next year when Paul is fishing on Christmas Island. We'll see - it's all up in the air. Life is up in the air.
If you read this entire post, BRAVO to you!
I leave you with a recent photo of Paul & I from Willamette last weekend.

Take care of yourself, wear your mask, and be responsible. You only have one life to live, so live it well.
