Savannah, GA
WOW. I'm such a great blogger! Can't believe it's been 7-8 months since my last blog. But I must admit, I have been quite busy. I'm a little ashamed to say that I've only been on one trip since my last blogging session. I flew into Savannah, GA on Feb 25 and drove up to Charleston, SC on Feb 29. I'll start with Savannah, GA. And yes, when you say Savannah... say it with the accent!
I must admit, I was quite unimpressed by this town... I don't know if it was the feeling of wanting to carry a gun with me or because it just felt like home in New Orleans. I still haven't quite decided. The center of downtown was absolutely picturesque Savannah in which the river flowed on River Street, scents from the restaurants flowed through the brisk air, and the food was almost as good as it is in Louisiana. Maybe it's because I'm used to gorgeous plantation homes that are so vastly widespread throughout my home state, but there are some stunning historic homes. That's what New Orleans is doing wrong! Cobblestone! Duh. Why didn't we think of this in the late 1800's?
My other confession: the food isn't too shabby here! Of course, I shared in every tourist's favorites... Paula Deen's dinner buffet and Uncle Bubba's. Call it Uncle Bubba, I call it Uncle Crap. Worst meal hands down. Such a shame because you have to head towards Tybee Island to get to this place and Tybee in it's on-season looks like the place to be.
Check out below some pictures from Google Images since I'm such a terrible picture taker when I'm disappointed in a travel find.
And here's my least favorite... Uncle Crap...I mean Bubba... Had great potential
I also took an Old Savannah Tour... when in Rome.....
I spent a lot of this trip just relaxing since I stayed with a friend in Pooler, GA.
Next stop: Charleston, SC!
