Final Cruise Thoughts
I
had a really great cruise… I think if you want to find the negative, you don’t
have to look far, but I really try to keep an open mind. Each post is truly
my honest opinion and not my version of negativity towards any cruise line in
particular. I did enjoy my cruise, however, what I was sold was ‘Modern Luxury’
and I do not feel that the product I received lived up to this tagline.
I
enjoyed the food, drinks, cabin, fun, but most of all, I enjoyed what could not
be replaced- the wonderful people I was lucky enough to share a dinner table
with. They made my cruise experience exceed any expectation I could have ever
dreamed of. I know this sounds crazy, but for a 30 year old girl traveling
alone, this changed my cruising experience. It made the food taste a little better,
the music sound a little louder, and the drinks taste sweeter. Yes, I enjoyed
my home away from home for 9 nights and I also enjoyed the company. I do feel
that Celebrity has to step it up a bit in the way of service and perhaps even
food options and presentation. I did not feel I was on an ‘old ship’ at any
time. I would love to experience an S class ship just for comparison sake. I do
not choose a cruise based on the age of ship, but I do think it would be nice
to think outside the box and try something new.
I would not say I have any
complaints, but mostly suggestions as to how Celebrity can do it better. I also
want to state that I as well as the frequent cruisers at my table both noticed
that the staff is really over worked. They work very long shifts and this could
possibly be the cause of the declined service I’ve mentioned a few times. We
noticed that the lack of anyone going above and beyond was more than likely
because there was not enough staff to man each area. I also feel that Celebrity should consider a completely new menu with new and varying food options. I hope they step up the food quality and make more of an impression on the presentation of food in the future. Frequent cruisers commented several times about how they could guess what would be on the menu that night - how unexciting? Again, this is a simple
observation in hopes that things do change in the future and for the better.
Happy cruising!
