Hereafter

Just got home after seeing the new Clint Eastwood  film: Hereafter. Must say, I was expecting so much more. Don't get me wrong, it was a beautifully directed film. I just left with a void I expected to be filled. Maybe it's my fault for expecting more, and of course, the more you expect - the more let down you will probably be. I expected my mind to be flowing with ideas and fantasies of all the possibilities of "Hereafter"... especially with such potential from the opening scene of the tsunami. I'm still amazed Marie survived such a catastrophic event, especially when her pupils were definitely blown. I swear, just because I didn't have my penlight, doesn't mean I  can't diagnose blown pupils. At the end, you do get the comfort you are looking for, but I still believe The Secretariat is the movie of the year.

On a side note, I just wanted to mention how well I'm doing thus far! I didn't think I'd take this blog-thing seriously, but I've proven myself wrong! Well, there's always tomorrow. I'm not looking forward to tomorrow, or the weekend because I'm on call. I guess the concept of explaining my profession as a Hospice nurse (or case managers like they call us, to make it sound way more interesting than it is) requires its own blog. We'll get to that journey some other time.
