Packing for a Cruise

A snapshot of how I pack... ziplock bags protect your liquids from spilling onto everything else in your bag. Most travel sized items I purchase come from Bed Bath & Beyond due to their huge selection. Otherwise it's Target or Walmart. I can find the toothpaste I love (Colgate Sensitive) in a travel size from the Dollar Tree)

New investment - Belkin power charger, on the sides it actually has USB ports for certain devices. I plan to use it for cell phone, Kindle, & camera - that's as high maintenance as I get! (Purchased the Belkin at Amazon.com for around $12 with free shipping)

So I don't get it, but it's on every list and I hope I don't have to use it. Masking tape. Guess it can't hurt. ($1)

My other new investment from Bed, Bath, & Beyond. It looks small and I almost didn't buy it because of it's size. I purchased this because of it's potential. I'm using this on my trip to NYC later this week to give it a test run. Not sure how this will hold up for a 10 night trip, but we shall see! (Priced at $19.99, but used a $5 off coupon and got it for $15)

Everyone else on the cruise message boards say they use this 'over the door shoe organizer' for storage and easy access in their cabin. Clearly this is not for shoes, just every day items. Since I will be in my cabin alone, we'll see if I get much use out of it. I plan to re-use this in the future. (Purchased at Wal-mart - there were many options, I picked the cheapest and it was less than $6)

Another item everyone swears by - especially on Caribbean cruises. I remember getting this horrible rash on my right arm and leg in Dominica in 2008, so I take bug repellent and cortisone cream very seriously! (Purchased this at Walmart for $4, however, there are many options and I chose sweat resistant and the smallest size. Many prefer the Deep Woods, but I know it will be hot & humid)

That's it for now... more items to  come!
