New York, New York!!!!
My fourth trip to NYC proved to be the most eventful yet! Labor Day Weekend in NYC - hot, but worth it! I just visited December 2013 and had the itch to see a couple of shows.
Arrived in NYC before 10a and unloaded at Marriott Marquis... then we headed to Shake Shack for a quick lunch. Yum! Then it was time to hit the subway to head to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.
Was a gorgeous day! After seeing both islands, we were off to the 911 memorial. I must say, the memorial museum was very well done. I didn't know what to expect or if it would be too much to handle, but it was respectful and elegant. It is also very detailed, so you need to allow around 2-3 hours. A LOT of content and I loved how the pentagon and the United flight that was taken down were both delegated their own section and space. Bravo!
We did a fantastic NYC loop tour - we did the midtown, uptown, and Brooklyn loops. Great tour and we were on the top deck of the double decker bus. The perfect weather helped!
I saw two plays - Kinky Boots & Book of Mormon. I was very lucky to get my playbill signed by the entire cast of Book of Mormon and it is now resting in a shadow box on display!
I must admit... I have my NYC fix for a while. It was a fantastic trip, but I think I'm set for a short while. On our last day, we checked out Eataly - I highly recommend this if you have the extra time! Great Italian shopping and food. It's like the Italian mecca of NYC.
