Summer Travel Continues...
Summer trip # 2 is complete! And what a trip it was! This entire trip was planned entirely around seeing Ed Sheeran at the Red Rocks in Denver, CO. Seeing a live concert at the Red Rocks was part of my bucket list. Spoiler alert: it lived up to the expectations!
You cannot travel to the beautiful Rocky Mountains and not actually go to the park. I made a day trip to Estes Park and RMNP. My first trip to these two beautiful parks was in 2010; their beauty has remained untouched. Here's a bit of a sneak peak into my beautiful day in the parks....
I decided to stay in Louisville, CO due to its proximity to the parks and Red Rocks. I stayed at the Marriott Courtyard Louisville. Take a peak at my hotel room:
This day trip took place on Sunday June 28 and then the next two days were spent relaxing before the concerts. I saw Ed Sheeran on both nights - Monday and Tuesday. I was able to meet up with a good friend from college before the show on Tuesday night. We had a wonderful meal at The Fort which was located just a few miles from the amphitheater.
I left CO bright and early on Wednesday July 1 to head to Virginia to visit friends that I met on my cruise in December. I spent a wonderful 4 days with them before heading home on Sunday July 5. We spent 4th of July at their lake house on Lake Anna. Couldn't have planned a better vacation of sight seeing, live music, and relaxing than this!
Next up: Utah in September!
