Day 5: Monterey
I've been to Monterey, CA twice, so this was a no-brainer for me. I opted to rent a car so we could take the 17 mile drive on our own and not in a bus. Another bucket list item was to head to Bixby Bridge about 15 miles south of Carmel, CA. I rented a convertible, but later invited two friends who joined us on this cruise and the convertible was way too tight for 4 adults.
It hurt my heart, but we had to change to a van. Not quite as sexy to hit the road in a van, but I must say... I get it. I totally get why families buy vans. I can't imagine having my friends get in and out of a convertible back seats each time we got out of the car.
