Oh, the holidays

I'm beginning to notice, the older I get, the less I enjoy the holidays. The stress of buying gifts, guessing what everyone wants, and then purchasing/wrapping/giving of it all - is exhausting. Fortunately, this year I have cut down my list to nearly minimal. I LOVE giving gifts, I'm just tired of ALL the gift buying/giving at one time. Each year, my friends list gets smaller and my family list expands. On the note of gifts, I just have to share my New Orleans Saints themed wreath I treated myself to a few weeks ago - I am quite fond of this creation from a local nursery. I guess now, I'm in charge of purchasing my own gifts, so here is where it begins!

So I guess what I'm getting at, the times of waking up with hopes of Santa, counting the cookies eaten, and checking all the items on my Christmas list, are merely just memories now. Not much to look forward to aside from the stress of what to give, how much money to spend, and whether to use wrapping paper or a gift bag. Ah, the good times. 

Next post, I'll hopefully have some photos of all the family fun for Thanksgiving... now that's one holiday I never leave disappointed! :)
